TRIED AND TRUE SHIPPING HINTS
Take the time to do it right and you will save the headache and cost of damaged or lost merchandise. Improper packing hurts everyone.
Get it there... don't despair!
Address, address, address
Take the time to make sure the “Ship To:”
delivery and contact information is correct and clear.
Suites, annexes, units and buildings become a MUST when dealing with large campuses and companies!
Think about the challenges your
delivery faces. A delivery to John Smith at the U of W will likely
not get to the intended person without the added information to
WHERE Mr. Smith is located on campus. What building, department,
class, etc.
Recycle
What better way to keep our
area beautiful than to help reduce waste. EXPRESS NORTH AMERICA
COURIERS & LOGISTICS
encourages recycling, however, when it comes to reusing envelopes
and boxes, you will want to make sure:
-
The packaging is still sturdy. Don't let the bottom fall out on you or the drivers...or worse, your customer! That would be tough on your merchandise not to mention it is a set up for a really bad day for everyone.
-
All old addressing is crossed out. Did you really want your items delivered to Montana?
"Whatcha Packin?"
Be aware that there are some items we cannot deliver—so if your box states “Hazardous Materials,” but really only contains papers, we may not be able to
deliver it. Also, you may want to consider packing items in something
OTHER than original boxes or avoid “high value” item boxes, like computer or music equipment
boxes.
Cigarette and alcohol boxes are not a good choice either. They can
trigger a whole set of headaches you may not be ready for and some
transport methods may reject your package altogether.
"Where to go?"
Did you remember the return address?
Did you know that sometimes we cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes? The more information WE have, the better we can resolve issues with difficult delivery situations.
Always provide contact names and numbers for the pick up and
delivery end. Is there a security guard? Does a loading dock or a
facility close at a certain time? Do we need an appointment to load
or offload?
Welcome to Washington...
Please cover up address labels, or use indelible ink. We will love you for it and so will
your clients. Our drivers make every effort to keep items away from
the elements but sometimes a little rain may occur. Also, please
make sure they are secure, protected from moisture and cannot be
torn or ripped. Remember that all old
addresses and barcodes need to be crossed out or removed.
WE WILL ALWAYS FOLLOW GUIDELINES FOR HOMELAND SECURITY, TSA REQUIREMENTS, ETC.
EXPRESS NORTH AMERICA COURIERS & LOGISTICS RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE AND/OR REPORT ANY SUSPICIOUS DELIVERIES OR ACTIVITIES TO AUTHORITIES.
